Our Approach to Sourcing

At Cocoa Hub, we believe good cacao starts with knowing where it comes from.

Our cocoa beans and semi-finished cocoa products are sourced through a combination of direct relationships with farms and producer groups, and trusted partnerships with specialist cacao suppliers and importers who share our commitment to quality, traceability and responsible sourcing.

Where possible, we work directly with producers at origin. For other products, we work with carefully selected supply partners who have established relationships with growers, cooperatives and processors. This allows us to offer a much wider range of origins and cocoa products while maintaining a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain.

Relationships: We value long-term relationships throughout the cacao supply chain, whether directly with farmers and producer groups or through trusted partners who work closely with them.

Fairer Value: We support supply chains that recognise the value of quality cacao and aim to ensure producers receive appropriate compensation for the cacao they grow and process.

Quality and Flavour: Origin, genetics, fermentation, drying and processing all have a significant influence on flavour. We seek out cacao with distinctive characteristics and work with producers and suppliers who understand the importance of quality at every stage.

Sustainability: Many of the producers we work with use farming systems such as agroforestry, organic agriculture and other practices designed to protect soil, biodiversity and the long-term productivity of cacao farms.

Traceability and Transparency: We want our customers to understand what they are buying. Wherever possible, we provide information about origin, producer, variety, processing and other characteristics of the cacao we sell.

When you buy from Cocoa Hub, you are buying from a business that is actively working to build shorter, more transparent and more responsible cacao supply chains.

Some of our cacao is sourced directly from producers, while other products come through trusted specialist partners. We believe being transparent about that distinction is an important part of responsible cacao sourcing.
