Revival Ceremonial Cacao Mass - Tabasco Lavado
Traditional Mexican cacao, with a focus on naturally occurring flavanols.
Make your daily ritual a moment of discovery with ceremonial cacao mass made from unfermented lavado cacao from Tabasco, Mexico.
The flavanol difference
Cocoa flavanols are naturally occurring plant compounds found in cacao, including epicatechin. How cacao is processed influences how much remains, and this is what makes lavado particularly interesting.
Two samples of Revival’s Tabasco lavado cacao beans analysed in March 2024 recorded 122.6 and 132.9 mg of cocoa flavanols and procyanidins (DP1–7) per gram of fat-free dry matter.
These results offer insight into the source cacao behind Revival’s lavado range.*
Rooted in Mexican tradition
Lavado means “washed”. The freshly harvested beans are washed to remove the surrounding fruit pulp, then dried without the usual fermentation stage. The cacao is subsequently transformed into mass for preparing your ceremonial drink.
Make it your ritual
Chop your preferred portion and whisk or blend with warm water or your favourite milk until smooth and frothy. Add cinnamon or sweetness to taste, then take a moment to pause and enjoy.
The figures above relate to tested source-bean samples, not this finished cacao mass or necessarily its production batch. They are expressed on a fat-free dry-matter basis, excluding fat and moisture, and do not establish the flavanol amount per serving.
